In my case I get the problem whether I use the Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder method, or if I create a compressed folder and drag/drop or copy files to it. However if I copy the compressed folder to the network drive and then try to access it I get the same error. If I create a compressed folder on my C: drive it works fine. The compressed (zipped) folder 'U:\backgrounds\tulip.zip' is invalid. I get 'Compressed (zipped) folders error - Windows cannot open the folder. When I create a comressed folder it all seems to work, but then when I attempt to access it My problem is very similar - I can create and manipulate compressed folders on local drives on the W7 PCs, but not on shared areas on a Buffalo Terastation NAS.
